Legendary Reggie Thomas holds clinic with LWHS jazz students April 2, 2026

Amazing two hours with Reggie Thomas, jazz educator and pianist with the Count Basie Orchestra, on April 2, 2026. "Your job is not to play the right notes and the right rhythms, but to find the music in the notes and the rhythms. Your goal is to make the audience dance.," Thomas told the students."

24 LWHS Jazz students (about 50%!) caught an impromptu April 2 big band clinic with renowned jazz artist Reggie Thomas. Several said it was "life changing!" Big thanks to Mr. Kruse, Mr. Northey, and the LWHS Music Boosters for making it happen!

Mr. Thomas is a renowned jazz educator, musician, and pianist with the Count Basie Orchestra. He has also worked with Essentially Ellington, the Herbie Hancock Institute, and many others.
